After the whole drama surrounding HTC’s Desire HD, one would hope for at least a few days of quiet and happy update stories. Today is not that day as it has been revealed that the world’s first dual-core Android smartphone, the Optimus 2X, has just been removed from the official Android 4.0 upgrade path, according to LG Canada.
@PaddyJJ16 The Optimus 2X will not be receiving the ICS upgrade. The original upgrade announcement was a general statement issued from HQ.

The “general statement” wording is odd as is the fact that many lower spec’d phones have received the same upgrade that has been deemed “too much” for the 2X’s aging hardware. Just goes to show you how valuable the Nexus brand truly is as well as why you shouldn’t put much faith/trust in manufacturers/carriers’ claims about future upgrades.
