(Before It's News)

ZTE isn’t the most popular name in smartphones (in the U.S.). Abroad, however, ZTE is quite the contender even next to the bigger names like HTC, Samsung and Motorola. You see, while their hardware often falls into the mid- and low-range territories (at least here in the states), the company is perfectly capable of pumping out high-end hardware. Take for example, the “Flash”, which is allegedly coming to Sprint this October according to a leaked internal Sprint screenshot.

Under the hood will be a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor (likely S4), 1 GB of RAM 8 GB of internal storage and a 1,780 mAh battery. More impressive talking points include a 4.5-inch IPS 720p (1280 x 720) display and 12.6-megapixel rear-facing camera. Oddly enough, the front-facing camera is significantly lower quality at a paltry 1-megapixel. As any good flagship device these days, Bluetooth, NFC and LTE also make the cut. For now, Android 4.0.x Ice Cream Sandwich is the OS of choice. Though, as TalkAndroid hopes, the length of time between now and the rumored release means Android 4.1 Jelly Bean could be implemented if ZTE developers get kickin’ into high gear.

The only thing left to wonder about now is price.
