(Before It's News)

We’ve covered the Divoom BlueTune-2 wireless speaker a few months ago and this time what we have is its little brother, the Bluetune-1.

The Divoom Bluetune-1 is a portable Bluetooth speaker sporting a cylindrical design with the main body having a soft matte texture and comes in black, brown, red, and white colors. The plastic top and bottom has an aluminum finish and this thing has heft so it doesn’t feel cheap at all.

Like other Divoom Bluetooth speakers, you can also attach this to any device with a 3.5mm audio port with the 3.5mm cable found on its underside in case you don’t want to go wireless.

At the back is a 3.5mm port for you to connect to an even bigger pair of speakers to essentially make them wireless. You can also find the miniUSB port at the back for charging.

Four buttons line up at the bottom: Power, Pair, and the two volume controls. Pairing is easy, just press and hold the Pair button and wait for the LED to flash to begin accepting devices. When your device is successfully paired, the LED light will stay blue.

Bluetooth is limited to a max of 10m by the way with noise coming in the farther you are from the speaker. I believe you can also pair your device to a couple of these Bluetune-1’s for stereo sound.

What we noticed with this Bluetune-1 is that it has a loud output for its small frame. It’s loud without distorting the sound, well except for the lows which gets slightly muffled at really loud volumes but the treble is squeaky clean. Sound quality is average, not the same as like using a pair of good headphones but still decent nonetheless for sound-tripping with your friends.

A full charge of its battery is rated at 8 hours but it stays alive longer if you use the 3.5mm cable instead.

Overall, the Divoom Bluetune-1 is a decent choice for a portable Bluetooth speaker you can easily bring with you anywhere. You’ll get loud, solid sound from a small, portable device. At Php2,250, the price is just right for the quality of this wireless speaker and the sound output it produces.
