Despite a beautifully designed and well crafted One Series, HTC’s fortunes still haven’t made the turn around they (and we) have been hoping for. The company just released their unaudited financials for August 2012 and it is sadly more of the same – continued falling sales revenue.
In August 2012 HTC only managed NT$24 billion ($800 million) in revenue. Compare that to just one short year ago in August 2011 when the manufacturer was enjoying a high point in the carrier with NT$25 billion.
As we touched on yesterday, HTC’s missteps with the One Series (such as the One X’s lack of removable battery coupled with poor battery life and lack of expandable storage) have no doubt helped allow Apple and Samsung along with their own records. Add to that an already lost focus in the core One Series ideology and you’ve got the recipe for repeat failures.
We certainly hope HTC can turn themselves around. But too many more months like last month (and years like 2012) aren’t going to end well.
