We get used to seeing new ultra books being released from all of the main manufacturers, so it is refreshing to see that some computer makers are at ease in sticking with just a standard laptop, even though it may be pushing the limits of the ultra book boundaries, as we can see with the new Note Critea VF17A2 from Dospara. The Note Critea VF17A2 is an interesting laptop with a 17.3 inch screen, powered by Intel processors, chipsets and graphics cards. If there is one feature that actually lets this laptop down, it would be the high gloss finish on the case some folks like it, while some do not like that sort of thing at all, it’s just a matter of choice.
Dospara have done well with this laptop though, providing a smart looking screen of 17.3 inches, with a wide LCD Glossy Full HD display, it also has a 1920 x 1080 of pixel resolutions and there is the built in 1.3 million pixel camera web camera. This laptop will be running the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium operating system and is powered by the Intel Core i7-3630QM mobile processor 2.40 GHz Quad-Core, rating, but can be up to 3.40 GHz with Turbo Boost and a 6 MB L3 cache.
There is support for the Mobile Intel HM76 Express Chipset and video comes from the Intel HD Graphics 4000 card with built-in CPU. For memory, there is a 4 GB up to 16 GB of PC3-12800 DDR3 SO-DIMM available and a 500 GB 2.5 inches connected SATA 3.0 Gb 5400 rpm of SATAII hard disk drive (HDD). When it comes to networking, there is the usual 10 BASE-T, 100 BASE-TX, 1000 BASE-T wired LAN, Bluetooth 4.0 + HS and IEEE 802.11 b / g / n Wireless LAN. Other features include two superfast USB 3.0 ports, two standard type USB 2.0 ports, HDMI out and the D-Sub 15 out.
When it comes to size, the Note Critea measures up at 34.7 mm (H) × 278 mm (D) 419 mm (W) and weighs in at a fairly heavy 2.9 kilos with the Lithium-ion battery pack in place that Dospara claim will offer the user up to 5.2 hours of power. Dospara have priced this version of the Note Critea VF17A2 to start from $880
