(Before It's News)

Video Recruit is a startup which seeks to cut the clutter when it comes to interviewing professionals. Recruiters can use the service to get automated yet meaningful interviews which potential employees can give from anywhere.

A interviewee will get a mail which has questions for them to which they can reply via video. The mail only allows one video response, so there is no issue of candidates practising for the questions.

Here is a video which explains the service.

The service will be heading to India soon as we have heard that serial investor Jaideep Venugopal has made an investment in the company. Details of the investment have not been made public except for the fact that Video Recruit has seen around 3 million Euros in total investment. Supposedly, the investment has been made so that the company can begin its India operations.  The company was founded by Annabelle Diamantino, Philip Staehelin and Tomas Tomiczek who have also invested in the company. The company is currently located in Prague in the Czech Republic.

Jaideep Venugopal spoke about his investment in the company.

“Recruiters now do not have to sit through interviews where after a couple of minutes you know that candidate is unsuitable. Further, with the ability to review the videos at their convenience, whenever and wherever they are and on internet connected device, the recruiters will find the tool to deliver significant time and cost savings, besides increasing the speed and quality of hire. Needless to say there is a huge scalability factor in Video Recruit’s business model.”

The concept seems very promising and will definitely speed things up in terms of recruitment. Recruitment in India can be a challenging affair when you see so many instances of doctored resumes because employers were too busy to catch the discrepancies. This service may help HR and hiring departments to reduce the time they spend on evaluating resumes in a roundabout way and focus on the basics.
