Once again, it is the Japan based computer maker Mouse Computer who is releasing more new laptops onto an already busy marketplace. This time they are going big with the MB-W901X2-SH, it has a massive 17.3 inch screen, powered by Intel Core i7 processors, graphics by Nvidia and there is a lot of storage available with a HDD and SSD installed. This is not really a laptop for gamers, it is going to be more useful for anyone in the media business or as an entertainment laptop, but its price tag of just under $1,900 will limited it to customers who know the brand and are willing to shell out a lot of cash for the laptop of their dreams, which the MB-W901X2-SH could quite easily be considering the specs.
The MB-W901X2-SH comes with a big 17.3 inch screen in glare type with LCD Full HD (LED backlight) offering a 1920 × 1080 of pixel resolutions and there is a built in 2.0 mega pixel web camera. It is going to be running on the latest Windows 8 Pro 64 bit operating system and powered by the high end Intel Core i7-3840QM processor with 2.80 GHz to 3.80 GHz and with 8 MB support Smart Cache. It has support from the Intel HM77 Express chipset and the video graphics are coming from the NVIDIA GeForce GTX660M & Intel HD Graphics 4000 cards with the support of the NVIDIA Optimus technology. There is a massive 24 GB of PC3-12800 DDR3 SODIMM available, an equally big 1 TB SerialATAII 5400 rpm hard disk drive (HDD) and there is a 240 GB Intel 520 Series Serial ATAIII solid state drive (SDD) for storage.
Networking is made easy with the IEEE 802.11 b / g / n wireless LAN, Bluetooth V4.0 + LE and the 1000 Base-T/100 Base-TX/10 BASE-T (RJ-45) Ethernet LAN. Other features will include the single standard style USB 2.0 port, a couple of super fast connecting USB 3.0 ports, D-sub & HDMI display ports, Stereo Speaker system and a useful Multi-Card Reader. As for the size of this laptop, it measures up at 413 mm (W) x 277.5 mm (D) x 17.5 mm to 44 mm (H) and it weighs in at 3.2 kilos with the built-in lithium-ion battery pack that Mouse Computer say should be good for three hours of power.
Mouse Computer have put a price tag of around $1,900 on this high end laptop, but could that be pushing it just a little bit too far?
