Green Building Alliance (GBA) has announced that The Efficiency Network – TEN - is the new title sponsor of the Pittsburgh 2030 District.
Pittsburgh 2030 District is GBA’s visionary initiative to reduce energy, water, and transportation emissions by 50%, a goal that insures that environmental innovation is an economic engine that will keep Pittsburgh world-competitive for decades to come.
TEN is a technology-driven Western Pennsylvania energy efficiency provider serving commercial, industrial and institutional energy users. TEN utilizes machine intelligence and trusted local implementation partners to deliver on-demand energy and water savings:
As the Pittsburgh 2030 District Title Sponsor, TEN will be a critical regional catalyst in helping Pittsburgh metro achieve its ambitious sustainability goals.
“The Efficiency Network is delighted to be the new Title Sponsor of Pittsburgh 2030 District,” said Troy Geanopulos, TEN’s CEO. “Rob Campbell and I learned a lot building CLT Efficient Technologies, and then leading Constellation Energy’s energy efficiency businesses. Now we’re back in action in Pittsburgh with TEN, a team of world-class engineers and software developers. TEN combines what we learned as entrepreneurs and corporate executives to create the next generation model for delivering energy and water resource efficiency projects. TEN is the no-hassles pathway our customers can use to realize energy savings.”
“GBA is equally delighted to welcome TEN aboard as Title Sponsor of Pittsburgh 2030 District,” said Mike Schiller, CEO for GBA. “We’re not about incremental change – we’re about big-time transformative change. We need sponsors who are ready and capable of ‘stepping up’ and delivering unprecedented results. Troy and Rob have exactly this type of track record. TEN is a great new company, and the type of start-up that will help the Pittsburgh region thrive in the decades ahead.”
“TEN is a transformational concept in energy and water efficiency,” said Rob Campbell (TEN’s President and COO). “We took the proven components of traditional energy efficiency offerings and literally transformed them using technology, automation and the best implementation partners in the business. Working with Pittsburgh 2030 District is a natural – we’re both dedicated to changing the landscape in building efficiency and sustainability.”

About the Pittsburgh 2030 District
A Green Building Alliance inspiration, the Pittsburgh 2030 District is a community of high performance buildings in Downtown Pittsburgh that is working to dramatically reduce energy and water consumption, reduce transportation emissions, and improve indoor air quality while increasing competitiveness, reducing resource use, and increasing owners’ returns on investment.
The Pittsburgh 2030 District was launched in August 2012 with secured commitments from dozens of property owners and managers aiming for energy, water, and transportation reductions. With support from County Executive Fitzgerald, Mayor Ravenstahl, Councilman Lavelle, and many community and professional organizations, the Pittsburgh 2030 District had an extremely strong kickoff and continues to make solid progress in recruiting Founding Partners (a designation that will be open through the end of 2012). Pittsburgh is one of only four cities with a 2030 District (along with Seattle, Cleveland, and Los Angeles), globally positioned as thought leader working to translate the District’s early successes into meaningful and measureable results.
