(Before It's News)

Patent wars have become the norm of the day and what a terrible waste of productive time and efforts it is not to mention the series of headaches. In view of this it must be celebration time at Apple and LG Electronics for winning an infringement verdict in a San Diego court against Alcatel-Lucent. A-L had filed a suit for breach of its patents for electronic devices, computers and iphones being included.

Apple and LG win

November 27th was the beginning of the trial wherein A-L accused Apple and LG of breaching its patent for a video compression technology that ensures an efficient transmission of data over communications media like internet and satellites or stored on Blu-ray Discs and DVDs. The items manufactured by Apple named on the infringement list were several versions of iPhone, iPod, iPad and MacBook whereas those belonging to LG were Bliss UX700, Chocolate Touch VX8575, Touch AX8575, Lotus Elite LX 610, Mystique UN610 and Samba LG 8575. Apple definitely has a greater reason to celebrate what with it having lost a patent verdict to Mobile Media earlier today.
