Facebook Publishes Its Review For 2012
Today seems to be the day to publish yearly reviews. Twitter was the first, followed by Google and now Facebook has also released its review for 2012. The biggest social network in the world has looked back at the events of the year and organised them as stories on its Facebook Stories page.
Facebook Stories is an effort by the social network to showcase how people are using it in extraordinary ways to make deeper connections between people otherwise separated by geography. This special 2012 segment on Facebook stories has trends and data which is presented in two segments – Trends in the US and Trends Around the World.
I found out that India was featured on these lists for the top songs heard on the social network and the places that Indians checked into.
So, according to Facebook data, Tumhi Ho Bandhu from the movie Cocktail was the most played song in the country, followed by Daaru Desi from the same movie, Pani Da Rang from Vicky Donor, Tu Hi Mera from Jannat 2 and so on. Check this awesome looking graph that Facebook has made with the info.
The other section dealt with the most popular places in the country depending on Facebook check-ins. Select Citywalk in Saket is the most popular place among Indian facebookers, followed by the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Gurudwara Shri Bangla Sahib, India Gate, Connaught Place and so on.
The page also allows you to add your story to the page. Besides this, Facebook has also given all users a cool feature of accessing and reviewing their own year on Facebook. This shows all data like number of friends added, number of pages liked in addition to the integration of your Timeline data. This makes for a pretty good personal review. Twitter has also done something like this in their review but Facebook’s is by far the best.
