Apple users who were subjected to the disastrous and ridiculously inaccurate Apple Maps have a reason to rejoice. Google has released Google Maps for iOS today. There has been great demand towards Google to launch its iPhone app sooner.
The app is designed to take advantage of the iPhone 5’s larger screen to display more data. The app provides all the functionalities of the Android app. The app design and UI is considerably different than the Android app though. The app allows you to switch between 2D and 3D views easily. You can also use the app to navigate around while driving or travelling even though the Navigation bit for Google Maps on both Android and iOS are in beta. I have used the navigation on Android and it works well.
The good part about this app is how you can send crash reports or feedback. If something is not working, you can simply shake the phone and the app will send feedback to Google. The company has also released a Google Maps SDK which will allow iOS app developers to go ahead and integrate Google Maps in their apps.
Check it out and let us know how you like it.
