Addicted To Retail (ATR) presents: Max Mara by Duccio Grassi Architects.

Technology and nature combine in this luxurious Max Mara boutique by Duccio Grassi Architects in Hong Kong. For the Italian apparel company, Duccio Grassi created LED murals displaying undulating light murals, set behind curtains of wooden foliage and ashed oak wood ceilings and floors.

The 450-sq-m shop on a main shopping street in Hong Kong was intended to be both elegant and warm – limiting the use of steel materials, although a ‘second skin’ of steel and glass cocoons the interior of the shop, and porous stone walls decorate some of the upper floor rooms.

Rooms in the store unfold out of one another, merging from wood to stone. A staircase to the basement wrapped in a light mural creates a multimedia experience.
