MiraiStore.com Launched By Former People Group SVP

Former SVP Online Marketing of People Interactive, Ram Bhamidi has chosen to go independent & has come up with a fashion focused online web-portal called MiraiStore.com. The infant company has already managed to secure angel investment from Chairman and MD of Uniworld Logistics Prem Kumar M.

 

There are ample such websites already jostling for market share. What sets this venture apart?

Unlike other e-commerce ventures that aggregate SKUs from actual manufacturers, MiraiStore has actually launched operations with 10,000 SKU. If that isn’t enough, the company, sensing opportunity, is already gearing up to launch a private label of its own.

The founder, having secured funding from Prem Kumar is apparently relying on him for providing logistical support too hints a statement from Kumar, “Uniworld Logistics has been doing fashion logistics for several brands and the logical next step for me was to look at fashion ecommerce.  Our focus will be on being a significant player in the online fashion space which holds a lot of potential.  We see this as a marathon and not a sprint; the focus will be on growing profitably from Day 1” In simpler terms, the logistics player is eyeing to have a fashion based portal instead of merely acting as backend support.

However, Bhamidi has also the distributions strategies apparently all figured out, “We not only have the latest in fashion apparel and accessories, but have also set up state of the art warehouses in Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore to effectively fulfill our customers orders” he says. A while ago we had seen how Gitanjali, an offline jewelry store had launched its own e-commerce portal with help from Indiatimes. They too have an extensive logistical network required to deliver custom merchandise across India. Bhamidi will have to pull-up something similar to cater to the varying & dynamic tastes of people who indulge in fashion wear.

We visited the web-portal & it seemed to resemble many of it contemporaries. Though the company claims to have ready stock & warehouse support, do you think, the web-portal has what it takes to stand its ground against the present competition?
