Samsung Unveils yet one more Galaxy branded product – the Grand Phablet

How many more Galaxy-brand phones can one expect from Samsung launch? No one knows but one thing for sure the brand name has certainly been a blockbuster for the company. So they will not stop anytime soon. On Tuesday Samsung unveiled its latest device, the Galaxy Grand, an Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean smartphone having a 5-inch display. It occupies the space bang between the screen sizes boasted by the Galaxy S III and the 5.5-inch display on the Galaxy Note II.

The Galaxy Grand uses a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel camera for video chat, Bluetooth 4.0, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage and support for HSPA+ 21Mbps networks. It is blessed with several TouchWiz features such as the Multi Window that are available on the Galaxy Note II, This enable quick switching between applications, Smart Alert, which displays missed calls when you pick up the phone, pop-up video previews, S Voice and so on.

Two versions of the Galaxy Grand one a single SIM model and one that has provision for two SIM cards are planned for release by Samsung. This is a significant benefit for international travelers who need use only one device for two numbers. This would provide a substantial savings on roaming charges. A single phone can also be used for work and personal calls. This will mean that one does not need to juggle around two devices and risk losing them both. Two people could also share one device. Togetherness is …sharing a cell phone.

Samsung is expected to unveil more details about price and availability at the Mobile World Congress in February 2013.
