(Before It's News)

Dot.PH, the official domain registry of the Philippines was hacked Saturday afternoon with the country’s number one classified ads site, Sulit.com.ph, falling victim to a DNS change.

sulit announcement

According to Rootcon.org, entering Sulit.com.ph will redirect you to Ayosdito.ph, another local classified ads portal. This is done by simply changing the DNS server of the domain on the domain registar (dotPH) to point to another host (Ayosdito.ph).

RJ David, Sulit’s co-founder and current managing director, said that a group called Anonymous Iligan claimed responsibility for the DotPH hack. The hackers said that they found a vulnerability on the DotPH site that allowed them to change the DNS details on Sulit.com.ph’s account.

Sulit.com.ph immediately issued a statement on their Twitter that all data, application and servers are unaffected and are intact.

Unfortunately, DotPH was closed since Friday and will resume office on Monday so nobody was responding to Sulit’s e-mails and calls.

UPDATE (1) 11:00PM: Sulit.com.ph is getting a “Page cannot be displayed” error message.

UPDATE (2) 11:50PM: Sulit.com.ph is already back online.
