(Before It's News)

It has been a very busy couple of months for Apple. The company has made a host of hardware and software related announcements, followed by the release of its new products. So its been a pretty busy couple of months for us too, keeping up with everything the Cupertino California company kept showing us. In such a short span of time we have been treated to a new iPhone, a new iPad, an iPad mini and the new 2012 iMacs.

Earlier today we reported that the 2012 iMacs have now finally gone on sale. These new iMacs are beautiful to say the least. Underneath the beautiful facade is a technological masterpiece touting over 25% performance improvement over the previous iMacs. Needless to say these are the greatest iMacs that the company has ever built. It too certainly feels that way.

The iMac models were due for a major refresh and Apple did just that, and then some. The design is absolutely stunning and the new 2012 iMacs are thinner and lighter than ever before. Sure the display might not be a Retina Display, but its stunning nonetheless. To give it a thin profile Apple have removed the optical drive. There’s also a new Fusion drive which is sort of an amalgamation of a hard disk drive and a solid state drive.

In order to test the performance of the new 2012 iMacs, PrimateLabs ran benchmarks using the infamous Geekbench Browser. The conclusion was not shocking at all because we knew that these iMacs are far superior than their predecessors. The benchmarks prove that, and then some. The tests were run on a 21.5-inch base model 2012 iMac and it touted over 25% increase in performance as compared to the same iMac of yesteryear. These results make it evident that Apple has really outdone itself once again and these iMacs are really the best ones that the company has ever made.

Its surprising to see that the new 21.5-inch based model 2012 iMac is actually even more powerful than the 27-inch iMac of last year. It touts a full 10% performance improvement as compared to the aforementioned model. This is all the justification one can need to make up their mind about buying these new 2012 iMac models. If the base model 21.5-inch iMac has such a significant improvement in performance one can only fanthom how powerful the 27-inch 2012 iMac is going to be as compared to its predecessors. The new iMacs can now be purchased from Apple Retail Stores or through Apple’s online store.
