What’s In The Box?

The Box is your cloud hard drive that lets you manage your content whether for pleasure or business. It lets you access your data from your mobile device on the cloud from anywhere. You can link your files for sharing, and synchronize your data on your desktop. Box Sync lets you get to your content easily, choose which folders you want to access and create new folders as you need. This function works for you even offline so you can update and add files even without connecting to the Internet at the moment. Your files will be synchronized later on when you resume Internet connection. It is designed for teamwork, too. Your co-workers or teammates can view, edit and receive changes made to the files on the Box from the desktop or mobile device.

The Box can handle work conflicts. There’s a tendency for two people to work on the same file at the same time. Overlapping work can be handled by the Box. Its can automatically detect changes made simultaneously. Copies of different file versions are saved quickly so you and your team can review the discrepancies and consolidate your work. You also receive notifications through E-mail when one of your teammates edits one of the files to reduce conflict. The application is operational on Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows 7 supporting 32bit and 64bit operating systems. It also runs on Mac OS X Lion 10.7 and Snow Leopard 10.6.

It can handle sharing and getting of big files such as video presentations that you usually encounter with difficulty operating on E-mail. You can send a link directly from the Box, or paste it on your instant message or E-mail. You can invite others to join sharing a whole folder of files once you have created and uploaded it. It sends you real-time updates when someone edits, comments or views your file. It offers you 5GB free storage.

Worried about the safety of your files? Security is part of Box’s content management. Its data centers, business operations and facilities are all certified with Safe Harbor. It has been issued with an SSAE 16 Type II and has up to six permission levels. Employees don’t have to worry on the FTP operations, and instead focus on their job. Use tags to trace your files and folders.

You can specify who can have access or edit the folders and files. You can strengthen the security of your shared links by protecting them with a password, plus you can assign expiration dates for the access to the shared links. Through the admin console of Box, you can maintain an auditing path for all your user and file activities.

Create your virtual data room [VDR] easily. This will help you gain more control and security by transferring your document management to the Box from your E-mail or FTP. In the virtual data room, you can set restrictions for the preview, edit and upload of content with your customers or business partners. You can apply tools and controls for the security of sharing critical data.
