Did you catch the HBO GO app Update? HDMI support finally Added

I know, this one is a little late, but not everyone checks for updates on their device regularly. I know I don’t anyways. Half the time when they pop up I swipe them away because the icon in the notification area annoys me. If you happen to have a subscription to HBO via your cable or satellite provider, that means you also have access to HBO Go on your Android device. It is a simple app that lets you watch HBO content on the go. It is pretty nice and works well. A while back Russel Holly pointed out that the app didn’t support HDMI out and the app offered up a great little message telling you that it didn’t. Seemed a bit silly since you are paying for the service, why would they not let you travel and connect your device to a TV and watch a movie while you were away from your house? All corporate garbage probably.

Well, 2 days ago HBO made an update to the app. It didn’t have a huge change log, heck it only listed one item – Includes support for HDMI out. FINALLY. Took em long enough.

If you uninstalled the app or don’t check for updates very often and have been dreaming of the day the HDMI out was supported now is the time to get back to it. Check the Play Store for the update, or click the link below to pick it up again. It is a free app as long as you have a login for HBO.
