(Before It's News)

Samsung galaxy s4The Samsung Galaxy S4 has faded somewhat from the spotlight these past few months, but that still hasn’t stopped it selling like hotcakes, reportedly reaching 40 million sold handsets in 6 months. The Galaxy S4 famously sold 20 million phones in its first 2 months after its launch, eclipsing the sales of the Galaxy S3 in the same period of time, and although its pace has slowed significantly, selling 40 million of the same phone is nothing to balk at.

It’s almost hard to believe its only been 6 months since the Galaxy S4 was launched, and its unmitigated success gave birth to multiple variants including the Galaxy S4 Active, the Galaxy S4 Zoom, the Galaxy S4 LTE-A, and of course the crowd favourite, the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition. It’s hard to imagine that in 6 months time, Samsung will likely launch the Galaxy S5 and start the cycle all over again, but Samsung created this annual flagship game, so this is Samsung’s game to lose. Let’s see if they can keep up the charge.

Are you surprised that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has reached this mark? Let us know what you think about the phone in the comments.
