Microsoft has updated its Bing app for Android and iOS with a bunch of cool features. “We have been hard at work updating our apps for iOS and Android. Today we are proud to announce major redesigns of the iPad and Android Bing apps”, the company announced in a blog post.
For starters, Bing for Android breathes a fresh UI along with a cool feature to set Bing daily image as your Android wallpaper. “You have told us that one of the things you love most about Bing is the homepage image of the day. With that in mind, in this release we’ve made it simple for you to set the homepage image* as your lockscreen”, added the post. Android users can set the wallpapers by pressing button displayed on the app’s home screen.
In addition to above the latest 4.2 update lets you save and sync bookmarks via Skydrive so that they can be accessed on other devices. The new app also permits sharing of search results via Facebook, Twitter and other social sites. Moreover, the latest Bing version of Android app comes to fix the pinch to zoom in/zoom out when browsing web pages and in additional solves some crash bugs.
As for the iOS devices, Bing has tweaked the app for iPad to version 2.0, introducing a cleaner, simpler user interface to match Apple’s latest iOS7. It also sports the new Bing logo and color palette. The daily image saving ability also comes to iPad similar to Android. Other additions include improved maps search results, a Gift Finder Plus which lets you find appropriate gift ideas for family and friends just by answering a series of simple questions with “yes,” “no,” or “no idea.”
Microsoft launched four Bing apps on Windows Phone in August and adorned a new look with refreshed logo.
You can download the new version directly from Google Play and Apple’s App Store (iPad and iPhone).
