Airtel Unveils Pocket TV Streaming App For Android
Airtel has unveiled Pocket TV App that enables users to watch live content and TV shows on their mobile. Available on Android for now, it offers more than 150 Live TV channels, over 10,000 hours of video content and over 13 channels on anytime TV for an introductory pricing of just Rs 60 per month.
Once users install the app, they will have to activate the service by sending the SMS to 54325 from their registered mobile number.The app additionally lets users set alarms for shows, filter channels and videos by genre. It provides access to the programing guide, and favourite channels. The app features an adaptive streaming, which means that the video streaming bit-rate dynamically adjusts to the network bandwidth on your device.
Airtel Pocket TV app also offers the daily schedule for each channel and also allow sharing the updates to Facebook or via SMS. Users can see the list of the top viewed, newly added and top rated content from the recommendation zone. They can even set alarms to view their favourite show.
Available for download on the Google Play Store, the app is accessible to all smartphones and tablets with Android version 2.1 onwards. Within a month, the app will also be available on the iOS platform soon followed by other platforms. DishTV and Tata Sky already have their own such TV apps on mobile platforms.
