Reflecting the true essence of ‘community living’ ‘Ramleela’ was hosted at DLF’s upcoming township ‘Gardencity’ on 20th, 21st and 22nd October. The event, facilitated by DLF, was held at their residential development ‘New Town Heights’ in Sector 90, Gurgaon. A dying art form, ‘Ramleela’, which is based on the epic Ramayan, was staged through a dramatic presentation. The narration was backed by an ornately decorated stage, heavy costumes and eye-catching headgears. Deeply intertwined with the fabric of Indian culture, the presentation propagated core Indian values. ‘Ramleela’ culminated with the burning of Ravana’s effigy demonstrating the victory of good over evil.Residents turned up in huge numbers to witness the mythological extravaganza held opposite the multi-purpose hall of New Town Heights, Sector 90. Mr. Anup Kumar, Arjuna awardee and Pro Kabaddi player was a special invitee at the event.
Dr. Deepmala Singh, a resident of DLF Gardencity said, ‘We are delighted that ‘Ramleela’ was hosted at DLF Gardencity. Not only was the stage beautifully decorated but the artists also shone in their performances. However icing on the cake was the opportunity to meet Mr. Anup Kumar, an acclaimed sportsperson’.
Commenting on the ‘Ramleela’, Ms. Monica Kalvani, Assistant Vice President- Sales & Marketing, DLF said, ‘It has always been our endeavour to encourage social as well as cultural activities at our upcoming township DLF ‘Gardenctiy’. The 3-day ‘Ramleela’, an RWA initiative, was staged keeping in mind the multi-cultural background of the residents. We are extremely glad that residents turned up in huge numbers to watch the Ramleela with lot of enthusiasm. With over 500 families currently residing at DLF’s ‘Gardencity’, it is truly a joy to celebrate festivals together’. Ms. Kalvani further added, ‘On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, I would like to extend my best wishes to the residents of DLF ‘Gardencity’.
