Underworld Don Chhota Rajan Arrested In Bali After Two Decades On The Run

Indian mafia leader Chhota Rajan has been arrested in Bali, Indonesia, on Sunday by Interpol after decades on the run. It is a major breakthrough for investigating agencies as he has been wanted over a series of murders, extortion, smuggling, drug trafficking and film finance in India.
Named as Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje, the 55-year-old don ran a crime syndicate in India and since 1995 he has been a wanted man by Interpol.
CBI Director Anil Sinha has confirmed his arrest thanking Indonesia and Australia for prompt action at their request.
Chhota Rajan arrived to Bali from Sydney on Sunday. A red notice was received from police in Canberra about they have arrested a man at the airport who is suspected to be the murderer.
According to Australian Federal Police spokesperson, the Interpol in Canberra alerted the Indonesian authorities about Chhota Rajan arriving in Bali.
In 2014 the Australian police confirmed Chhota Rajan was living in Australia using false identity.
The official website of Interpol writes Nikalje was born in the Indian city of Mumabi and he was wanted for several charges.
