Check out this amazing ancient stone monument in Golan Heights. It’s roughly 5,000 years old, that makes it one of the oldest and largest structures in that region, and a contemporary of England’s Stonehenge. The prehistoric rock formation is not visible from the ground and was discovered following the 1967 Six Day War by Israeli archaeologists who were studying an aerial survey. It’s known in Arabic as Rujm el-Hiri, or “stone heap of the wild cat,” and Gilgal Refaim in Hebrew, which means “Wheel of Giants” and refers to a race of giants, the Nephlims that are mentioned in the Bible. Who built the mysterious structure, and what was it used for? Watch it on the Lip News with Mark Sovel and Elliot Hill.
