West Indies defeated host India in the T20 second semi-final by 7 wickets with two balls to spare at the Wankhede Stadium in Indian financial capital Mumbai.
Team India relied on the unbeaten 92 off 47 balls of Virat Kohli to score 192-2 but the smashing seven fours and five sixes of Lendl Simmons proved heavier.
With this the hopes of India to win ICC T20 World Cup 2016 shattered. Indian bowlers couldn’t deliver theri magic and failed to take wickets. They lost two important opportunities too due to no ball.
Simmons said, “I was under pressure, the team said I had to deliver and I guess I did tonight. We didn’t get the start we wanted and then I got three chances and I just cashed in.”
West Indies will face England on Sunday in the final match at Kolkata’s Eden Garden stadium.
