Over the past few years, we’ve seen a bevy of “Maker Videos” that document how a traditional craftsman works and the philosophy behind his or her work. In contrast, there’s been a growing parallel interest in the strange fascination of destroying manufactured objects, too.
But despite all of the iPhones dropped off of parking garages, plastics that have been deformed by molten metal and golf balls that have been chopped in half by an axe, few of these destruction methods are as memorable as watching something get compressed under 20 tons of pressure – which is exactly why the Hydraulic Press Channel exists.

“Wanna see stuff getting crushed by hydraulic press? This is the right channel for you!”
Needless to say, the results are strikingly fascinating – particularly if you understand materials and manufacturing:

He crushed that swing.
Be sure to check out the ongoing collection over at the Hydraulic Press Channel.
