Tesla unveiled its Model 3 of its luxury and electric car in Hawthorne, California, saying the production would start by the end of 2017.
CEO Elon Musk said the upcoming vehicle would be one of the safest cars in the world and until now the company has received more than 130,000 preorders.
It is learned the base car will do 0-60 mph in less than six seconds and the higher version could go much faster. It will come in rear-wheel drive as well as all-wheel drive versions similar to the Model S. It will also equip a 15-inch landscape touchscreen inside. The Model S and Model X has 17-inch portrait touchscreen.
Musk added the car to have more cargo capacity compared to any other gasoline car equipped with same external dimensions.
During the unveiling event about 115,000 more preorders were received by Tesla with down payment of $1,000.
It is now time to wait and watch how the final version turns up and whether disappointed investors could build up more confidence in the company. Do also share your own views about the new model with us and fellow readers in the below given comment box.
