(Before It's News)
Well, here it is, all sunny and freezing cold. Where's all the snow that was predicted? Guess it went around us up on the hill, again. I was hoping for every bit predicted, I actually like the snow. It just makes everything look so pretty during the dead and brown time of year.
Look at what Charcoal gave me about 2am this morning. At least this time, she didn't birth them in the bed with me!
The chicks are 2 weeks old and feathering out. Had a rough spot a couple of nights ago when a drunk driver whacked a pole 30 miles from us and knocked the entire grid out. Something as simple as that really shows you how vulnerable the electric grid is in this country. One simple little act of stupidity knocked power out to over 4,000 homes for more than 3 hours during 25F temperatures. Things that make you go “hmmmmmmm”.
More nasty weather supposed to be headed this way with overnight temps hovering near 0F. Yay Rah.
Somebody needs to stew that groundhog already…
