(Before It's News)

Because you never know when the day before … is the day before. Prepare for tomorrow. Without being dramatic, you do not want to mess around with the Ebola virus. Sometimes it's hard to get the straight story from the news media. Oftentimes, an internet search reveals so much technical jargon that you give up. Let's keep it simple.

Over time, symptoms of the Ebola virus become increasingly sever and may include:

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Diarrhea, may be bloody
  • Red eyes
  • Raised rash
  • Chest pain and cough
  • Stomach pain
  • Severe weight loss
  • Bleeding, usually from the eyes and bruising

The following is a primer on how the Ebola virus attacks, its symptoms and a graphic showing the timetable from symptoms to final stages.

Viruses are parasitic, they hijack living cells to reproduce their own genome. Here is an infrographic of how the Ebola virus attacks the body:

Ebola is a killer virus. An outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus is spread by close contact and kills between 25 and 90 percent of its victims.  There is no cure or vaccine.
Here is an infrographic indicating the early stages and advanced symptoms of the disease:

After contact with an infected host, the Ebola virus spreads throughout your system until days 7 – 9 when flu-like symptoms appear. By day 12, just a few days after the symptoms are recognized, the Ebola victim will experience loss of consciousness, seizures, massive internal bleeding and then death.

Fighting the virus is difficult as there is not cure or vaccine.  However, this infrographic provides some medical tips and preventive measures:
