A Truly Affordable Off Grid Cabin.
I have to tell you that the thought of doing this is very enticing to me…very enticing. If we can get the website to make money it might be something we work toward. I used to be very driven by possessions, and was always looking for the next big thing. The problem with having a lot of things is you need to maintain all of those things. As I have grown older and matured, I realized that I didn’t own any of those things, they owned me. They took up all of my time and money. So overtime things have been down-scaled… a lot. When it comes to big purchases, we almost never by new. It is also the reason we sold our bug out location. It was a 3 bedroom house on 12 acres. We didn’t live there, and maintaining a second home 2 hrs away turned into a nightmare. Things at our main home got neglected because there was work to be done at the other.
We have a great house now in a great location in suburbia, but the thought of downsizing is one we romanticize about. The thought of getting rid of all the stuff we have now and truly scaling down to live in a tiny house on a chunk of land just seems a lot less hectic. Notice I didn’t say easier. It would be hard, but rewarding work! We didn’t have a T.V. at our BOL. It was a decision we made ahead of time, and we didn’t miss it either. It makes me wonder what else we wouldn’t miss.
The link below is inspiring to me. This man took a shed and made it a nice home that functions well. Be sure to clink on all 5 pages (don’t know why they didn’t just put it on one) and watch the video. It has me thinking again. Who knows, maybe P2S will be coming to you from a tiny off grid cabin soon…
