What will make the biggest difference in this world in order to help all of us to live better and realize money savings each month is to invest into energy efficient homes. And we do not need to use spray in foam insulation to do this as some might want you to think (I just thought I should add this fact because if the spray job is done wrong it ruins your new home, and if it leaches fumes into the house it ruins your life). We spend nearly half of our energy cost on powering our homes, and winter represents the highest year round energy cost. And as for using renewable energy we first have to improve our homes energy efficiency to make this a reality, however it is more cost effective to construct a new energy efficient home than to retrofit an older one. Hence all new homes should be energy efficient.
If we can save energy cost every month of the year, we will once again be able to realize monthly savings that we can put into the bank and grow, and invest in something else such as a renewable energy upgrade. We can build houses that can help to pay for them self through the money saved each month on energy. But no one is realizing this, and you have to wonder whether or not people have brains anymore? So far it seems like they do not, I suspect they have too much fluoride in their water, or magnesium.
At the rate we are going as civilization goes, we will never address this issue of reducing our energy consumption and realizing the ability to generate some of our own energy at home. We have had the ability now to make energy efficient homes for nearly 30 years that I know of, but no one is building such homes. I wonder what the reason is that this is not the case? The intellectual elite and many government personalities these days talk about sustainable cities and sustainable communities but they are not building them, if anything they are only racking up unusual cost for grants and subsidies and spending money in an unsustainable way and not at all live by practicing what they preach.
I wonder if people can become focused enough on this issue to try and push it forwards and over the top into mainstream awareness? Allowing this to continue is unsustainable, we have to get down to the things that are going to matter the most in the long run in terms of modern society and implement them and so put them into common practice. We have to push education in terms of educating the masses on this particular issue which will provide the greatest impact on society and address at least half of our energy consumption.
