Mr. Middleweek was the drummer in a band of four “The Union of Jack”, which was regarded as the top band in Canberra in the years 1967-71.

He enjoyed the performance to the full. “I thought the show was exhilarating” he said.

Mr. Middleweek was at first not so sure about the sounds mixing of Eastern and Western music, but after hearing it, he said “I was just dumbfounded at the overall sound, it was just magnificent.”

The ability to seamlessly blend the disparate sounds of East and West into one fresh, harmonious sound is what makes Shen Yun Performing Arts Orchestra unique, according to the company’s website.

Mr. Middleweek said that he only came to listen to the music, but “the dancing was so incredible,” he said, “that I missed all of the music because I was watching all of the dancing. It was quite amazing.”
