WASHINGTON – Even a tinpot dictator with access to a missile and a crude nuclear device could bring the U.S. to its knees, causing a multitude of deaths and shoving the nation back into the 19th century.
The threat of an Electromagnetic Pulse, or EMP, will be the topic when “A Nation Forsaken” author F. Michael Maloof speaks Feb. 5 at noon at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C.

Maloof also will address the federal government’s inaction in preparing for the threat, which could come from either a natural solar flare or an enemy’s crude nuclear device.
