(Before It's News)

The Morpheus Team successfully executed the Ground Takeoff & Landing (GTAL) test on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX. The vehicle flew nominally and landed within 1″ crossrange and 6″ downrange of its intended target. The GTAL test characterized the performance of the vehicle in lifting off from launch stands on the ground, flying an ascent, hover and descent profile, and landing back on the ground. Verification of launch and landing performance; is crucial before heading to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida for free flight testing.

This is expected to be the last test performed with Bravo at JSC, showing the vehicle and team are ready to begin the Free Flight Test Campaign at KSC.
