Transits of Venus are among the rarest of predictable astronomical phenomena.

But there is another strange phenomenon, the planet Venus seems to be transparent.

Yes, it’s transparent, you can see the Sun through Venus. The sun is slightly visible through the planet.

Since when where Planets Transparent? Since NASA manipulates images and videos.

The phenomenon is absolutely no reflection of the lens, refractional rays or a glitch in the software. It indicates that NASA has used a technology to project a holographic display of the planet Venus. A virtual programmed reality that we believe is real because our brains tell us it is.

You’d think they’d at least fix it so we couldn’t see through the planet. Might seem a little more real.

Transits of Venus occur in a pattern that generally repeats every 243 years, with pairs of transits eight years apart separated by long gaps of 121.5 years and 105.5 years. The periodicity is a reflection of the fact that the orbital periods of Earth and Venus are close to 8:13 and 243:395 commensurabilities.

The last transit of Venus was on 5 and 6 June 2012, (Video) and was the last Venus transit of the 21st century; the prior transit took place on 8 June 2004. The previous pair of transits were in December 1874 and December 1882. The next transits of Venus will be 10–11 December 2117, and 8 December 2125.

Venus transits are historically of great scientific importance as they were used to gain the first realistic estimates of the size of the Solar System. Observations of the 1639 transit, combined with the principle of parallax, provided an estimate of the distance between the Sun and the Earth that was more accurate than any other up to that time. The 2012 transit provided scientists with a number of other research opportunities, particularly in the refinement of techniques to be used in the search for exoplanets.

  • No, Venus is not transparent. It is the same phenomenon like when you look at an object and then close your eyes. You still can see the object for a little moment because the retina of your eyes retains the image of that object for that little while. The camera imaging Venus, has its own “retina” composed of a huge amount of semiconductor pixels that retain the image of the Sun behind Venus in the form of lingering and weakening electric voltage. That lingering voltage means a dim image of the edge of the Sun behind Venus, creating a false impression of that Venus were “transparent”. The same phenomenon does not appear only on the edge of the Sun but elsewhere also where it is hard to see.
