4.6 quake rattles north central Washington
HERE By Associated Press and KOMO Staff Nov 18, 2011
WENATCHEE, Wash. – North central Washington was shaken by a 4.6 magnitude quake early Friday that awakened many residents but caused little or no reported damage.
The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network reports it occurred at 5:09 a.m. Friday and was centered seven miles northwest of Omak, and 8 miles northwest of Okanogan.
KPQ in Wenatchee reports callers say it was felt in Leavenworth, where it was described as a rolling motion, and in Twisp where it was strong enough to shake items off a shelf.
Residents of the area tell KOMO News that the quake was strong enough to wake them up.
“We are in Twisp, and the shaking was enough to wake us up and was very frightening,” wfrote one woman. Full report HERE
