Witness Statement: Bright yellow-white lights like an aircraft passed in a straight line from west to east very low over the treeline observed from my bedroom window, but not in the usual trajectory of an airplane, which gets closer or more distant; instead, these rather large lights went in a straight line from west to east very low over the treetops. I live about 20 minutes’ walk from the town centre and it seemed as if the lights were over the town centre. I thought it may have been a helicopter, but usually a helicopter this low will make some rotor noise, and there was none. Occasionally the lights would rise and fall slightly, as if buffeted by the wind, like an aircraft does when trying to land. I have seen Chinese lanterns at other times, and although the speed was similar, the movement of these lights did not resemble that of Chinese lanterns. From my bedroom window I watched the lights disappear behind and reemerge from the trees, and the speed was very slow. The night was very still and quiet and I didn’t hear a sound despite my window being open and me having seen and heard an airplane, separately; during this time (around 5 or 10 minutes? hard to tell) an aircraft rose into the sky, and the sound was very audible. The lights continued travelling silently east over the treeline until they were out of my field of vision.
