Witness Statement: I have tried to put this incident behind me but very difficult to do so, it doesnt effect my life but feel that I still need to let people know what happened
I will explain what happened although I cannot be certain of dates due to incident being some 12 years ago
At the time I lived at 33 Grants Close, Mill Hill, London NW7; towads the end of 1999 I invested in some property in Great Yarmouth and travelled there two to three times per week to instruct builders and others to restore the buildings and check on work progress. I am desperately trying to remember the date this incident had taken place, I cannot recall if it was towards the end of 1999 or early 2000
I was travelling back from Great Yarmouth and was on the M11 heading towards London, it was early hours of the morning I think between 1-3am, I really cannot recall exactly, my mother was with me and I was driving a V12 Jaguar at the time. I saw from a distance that cars were slowing down and I naturally thought it might be due to police or accident, as I approached Junction 8 on the M11, there is a tall water tower there on the opposite side of the motorway (south bound), which I am very familiar with because I broke down there before and would always see it on my drive from London to Great Yarmouth so I was very familiar with the water tower.
That particular night/early hours of the morning I saw 3 cars in front of me slowing down, then accelerating quickly, as I approached the water tower which I think might have been 200 yards away I noticed something hovering in mid air next to it, I also slowed down as the drivers did before me, I pulled over into the laybi directly opposite the water tower and this UFO, I got out of the car, I could not help myself, my mother was screaming for me to get back into the car, I did not move away from the car, I just stood there in total amazement, I say a disk shape object hovering in mid air, actually hovering is the wrong word, it was completely stagnant in mid air, no noise, completely silent, it was at the exact hight of the water tower which was no more than a 2 storey house hight, it was very low, If my memory serves me right it was a bronze/golden in colour with lights either end faced to the ground, it was disc shape and i hate to say this without sounding quite silly but it was shaped as a UFO like we see on films on TV; below it I can clearly see its belly which had a Greek Omega sign below it, I do not know if this was part of the, body shape of the craft that gave the Omega sign or an Omega sign which dominated the belly of the craft, it was large it was around the length of 3.5 to 4 double decker busses and the width of two busses I could not take my eyes of it and my mother in the car also went silent just staring at this object, the lights on the craft changed from 2 to 4 and my mother screamed for me to get into the car, I did what she asked, we then sat there in the front seats still looking at this craft, whilst cars on both side of the motorway slowed down to look at it as we did but did not stop, the motorway eventually cleared where there were no cars around and I still sat there, I couldnt take my eyes of it, it was so close; whilst sitting there the craft started to move and it silently moved crossed the motorway heading towards my car or I thought it was heading towards my car I was in its path, who knows, my mother started screaming for me to go and as it came directly over my car the area lit up as if was daylight I put my foot down hard on the accelerator and shot off and immediately looked in my wing mirror and my mother turned round to look and it disappeared.
Neither of us could sleep that night, the next day I telephoned the police to report it, because I could not get it out of my mind, the police advised I report it to the MOD, I telephoned the MOD and told them what happened, I explained to them that I was taking flying lessons at the time in light aircraft and helicopter and could distinguish between aircraft and something that was not a conventional air craft, I told them I felt quite silly in reporting what I witnessed and they told me I was not the first to report this same incident, which gave me some relief. I left the matter at that and prepared to go back up to Great Yarmouth, I was not planning on driving back up that day but had an unexpected building problem I had to go and look at. On the way to Great Yarmouth I naturally drove up to junction 8 on the M11 water tower and I noticed Hariat military planes flying around the area, the immediate thought that came to mind was, ‘oh they must have taken this seriously’ there were two hovering around the field where the water tower was, I carried on driving and went to my destination. That late afternoon driving back to London I saw again two hariat military aircraft on the opposite side, one was either landed and lifting up or landing because it could not have been more than 20 feet of the ground and the other was higher which I estimate to have been 100 feet above ground level, I found it odd that they were no more than 10 metres away from the motorway in-bankment where I stopped that very place to witness the UFO and more to my curiosity was how they would have been on one side of the motorway and that afternoon on the opposite side. I left matters without further thought.
A month later we had a family gathering brothers and sisters on Sunday to have dinner round mums house, my mother brought up our experience and to our amazement my brother Hios almopst choked on his food and said that he had experienced the exact same thing by the water tower and went on to describe this craft with the Omega sign below its belly, he saw it a few months before we did and he had a few people in the car with him, he also reported the matter to the MOD
I know what I saw, it was very real, whether it was a space craft or earthly craft I will never know but one thing I am certain of is that I know of no earthly craft that are disk shape nor any that can stagnate without hovering/completely still as if was fixed to a wall, and completely silent and moves silently
