(Before It's News)

Location of Sighting: Laverstock, Salisbury
Date of Sighting: 1990-ish
Time: 8 – 9pm
Witness Name: Steve G.

Witness Statement: En route to our friends’ house, my then partner was driving the two of us along Church Road in Laverstock towards the A30. Approx midway between the schools and the lil A30 roundabout my g/f says “What’s that?” swiftly followed – due to me gawping fruitlessly at the road ahead – by “No. Up there.” So, I look up into the dark and am about to say I can’t see anything when I become aware of stars appearing behind what? A cloud? I quickly realize it’s no cloud because the stars/sky is being revealed in a long, straight line. By this time we’re pretty much under the thing as it moves slowly left to right. (90 degs to the road, from Bishopdown towards Laverstock Downs) Bobbing and weaving between my passenger window and the windscreen I manage to discern the whole left side of this thing and its ‘nose’, now visible through the driver’s window. The rear-right third is hidden by our roof. Then, it clears us as we clear it and I get a brief glimpse of its rear corner before the roof hides it. The whole affair lasted maybe 20 seconds. I don’t think it occurred to either of us to stop. The way I recall it we were both kinda “freaked”,,, not in a scared way,, more like “WTF did we just see?!!” It takes a while to get your head around it. Anyway, having done so, here are my impressions/conclusions. This thing was definitely triangular and HUGE. Being a matt-black thing against a similar sky it’s difficult to guage its height but it seemed low,, around 500ft. It’d need to be about 300 to clear the Downs it was headed towards. If I’m right about the height then it had to be close to 200m in length. My impression was that it wasn’t as wide, so not an equilateral triangle, but any certainty about that was thwarted by the car’s roof. Didn’t see ANY lights on it. (Guess it was sneaking off home after a hard day of abducting n mutilating!) It was going 30 – 50mph and made no discernable sound above that of our engine. That’s about it. First time I’ve mentioned this online but decided I’m too old to care about being ridiculed by internet warriors or “professional” skeptics. I saw a bleedin’ great flying black triangle,, don’t pretend to know what it was which makes it a UFO by definition. I’m still in touch with my ex who might comment when I tell her I’ve posted this,,, if only to correct the date which I’m not certain about.
