(Before It's News)

In the depths of the oceans, lurk many strange creatures. Hundreds of thousands of different species exist alongside many that have yet to be discovered. Some are big, some are small, some have teeth, some are colorful, some are violent, some are scary, and some are pretty. Below is a list of the top three weirdest fish that exist in the deep blue sea.

1. The Viperfish The viperfish gets its name from behaving and somewhat looking like the snake known as the viper. This fish is very frightening in appearance, and in action. It has long needle like teeth, and an eel like body. It lurks in the lower depths of the ocean, and communicates with its light producing organ. It varies in color from silver to green to black, and can measure anywhere up to thirty centimeters in length.

2. The Fangtooth Fish This fish is named after its unusually large teeth. Its teeth are disproportionately large in comparison to its body. It is a small harmless fish to humans, but its ferocious looks are a bit deceiving. It has very thin skin, and small eyes. What makes this creature interesting is that, in proportion to its body size, this fish has the largest teeth of any other in the ocean. They are so large that the fish can never close its mouth.

3. The Blobfish This funny looking fish’s name is very descriptive of its looks. Simply put, this fish, if you can even call it a fish, is just a white blob. It is just as lazy as it looks like it would be, expending hardly any energy to survive. It survives by consuming whatever happens to float its way.

With all these strange creatures in existence, there are still many that are unknown and unrecognizable. In the video below, a large mysterious fish was recently caught near the coast of Japan.

It seems to look most like a shark or dolphin.  It has been debated whether these photographs were photoshopped or not because the fish is so bizarre looking.
