I’m allergic to cats, but I love them. Horrible dilemma…
Sharn has a friend whose cat had a litter a little over 6 weeks ago, and they’re weaned now– and he has to go on a trip Wednesday. Sharn wanted to check out the kittens, who need more looking after than adult cats, and she agreed to take all 4 of them home so she could pick a couple for herself and Cat. She already has a friend who wants to adopt another kitten.
Well… we went up into the woods to a private 5 acre spot with security gates and the whole bit, and the guy who works for the couple who owns it has a little apartment in the garage, and there we met the kittens and then packed them into a cat carrier and took them home.
Yes, I will post pics soon!
There’s a female black and white shorthair with a mustache like Groucho Marx. She’s the bravest of the lot and loves to climb and be in high places. Cat named her “Sherpa.” Sharn declared that one to be hers!
A male gray tabby seems very relaxed and friendly compared to his sisters, and he was the first one to purr and climb into my lap.
A gray and white female shorthair we call “Nosy” for her white nose is the scaredy cat who cries and yowls the most, and runs away the fastest, and hides, etc. She’s taking a while to get adjusted.
Finally, the little dear who stole my heart (uh oh…) a long haired tabby with white splotches I started calling Fiona, is very quiet and calm and thoughtful. Friendly, curious, playful– not the bravest nor the most timid. She’s just the chill chicko of the pack.
I have a bad feeling we’re going to end up with 3 more cats, because at least 2 of them (Sherpa and Fiona) have been marked to be loved, and Cat hasn’t even chosen yet! I mean, if she wants Fiona, I’ll step aside, but if she doesn’t– I will probably take her.
My cat Jazz is thrilled as you may imagine… NOT!
