(Before It's News)

On November 1-3 you can boost your homesteading and farming knowledge at the 2012 National Small Farm Trade Show and Conference held in Columbia, MO. Ag Opportunities newsletter for October from the Missouri Alternatives Center passes along info about this year’s event. It’s one of the largest annual small farm shows in the United States.

You can attend 20 seminars, 8 three hour short courses, and 27 talks in NCR-SARE Farmer’s Forum. The exhibition hall features a trade show with 150 exhibitors. Check out the demonstrations, exhibitions and association meetings.

As in past years, the conference features moneymaking farmers passing along info about their methods to fellow farmers. They’ll share ideas and information on income opportunities for the family farm in seminars and short courses.

Whether you’re a gardener, small homesteader, part time or full time farmer, the conference features helpful info on traditional and alternative farming.

Seminar topics include: grafting tomatoes, vegetable nutrition, soil amendments, aquaponics, selling what you grow, raising heritage cattle, raising pigs, raising poultry, and more.

Short course topics include: raised bed gardening, berry production, growing ethnic vegetables, high tunnel production, making cheese, and more.

Forums cover similar topics and much more.

This year’s National Small Farm Trade Show and Conference is November 1-3 at the Central Missouri Event Center, Columbia, Missouri. For more information call 800-633-2535. Or go to http://www.smallfarmtoday.com/trade-show.html
