At the previous hearing on September 20, more than 100 people attended and many testified to express support for gun rights. Opponents of the sporting clays range cited noise, decreased quality of life and decreased property values as their major objections despite the fact that the sporting clays range will be positioned on a nearly 700-acre hunting preserve. At the conclusion of this meeting, the Goochland County Planning Commission deferred making a decision and requested a noise test be administered on the property.
The October 18th 2012 hearing will be held in the Board meeting room at the Goochland County Administration Building located at 1800 Sandy Hook Road.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, please continue to contact planning commission members in support of the Orapax Sporting Clays Range. Contact information for members of the County Planning Commission can be found here.
