Texas is not under attack. As the residents around the city of Austin, TX and the surrounding counties will be seeing heavy police, fire and EMS presents and possible deployment, rest assure we are not under attack, but they are preparing for the next “Real” situation.
Just as with anything else, in order to respond correctly and save lives, you need to practice and then practice again. December 1 and 2 is the two days the county officials will have to practice their response to a terrorist attack.
As for all the non-participants out there, it would be a great time to look over your Family Emergency Plans on what your family response to a Terrorist attack would be. What is your shelter –in-place protocols look like. Do you have enough supplies on hand. Doing a family drill would also be a great exercise and if you have children seeing all these EMS drill, thay would love to feel that they are participating also.
