(Before It's News)

Here’s my challenge to you: do a random act of kindness sometime this week.  We are approaching the Christmas season and there is no better time to spread the cheer than during these few weeks, especially since there are people out there who are far less fortunate than we are.  It’s easy to stuff a few dollars into the Salvation Army bucket when leaving the grocery store, but I challenge you to make it more personal.  Find someone who you believe could benefit from your kindness and do something for them.  Money doesn’t even have to be involved!  Help someone carry their groceries, offer to take a senior citizen out for the day, volunteer at a food bank.

Here’s my story.  A few days ago I was out and about, caught up in the hustle and bustle of the Holiday crowds.  I decided that I should try to positively influence someone’s life, make their Holiday a bit more special if only by a little bit.  I went into a large retail store and did a few laps, I spotted a young lady (probably no more than 20 years old) who had a baby in a carrier and a young son (probably 3) in her cart.  I flashed back to when my wife and I were young and seriously broke, I knew she was the one.  I went over to the card section and picked out a Christmas card.  I paid for the card and then went to the ATM and took out some cash, which I put in the card.  I walked up to the young lady and stuck up a quick conversation, after which I handed the card to her son with the words: “Hey buddy, make sure you give this to your mommy.”  I was long gone by the time she opened it.  Random acts of kindness can only be a good thing, I challenge you to do something for a complete stranger this week.

Prepper Deals out on the Internet:

I have a few of these WaterBobs, a great item to have in an emergency.  I want to say that I paid around $25 for mine but they are on sale for $15 at CTD.

Take $10 off these quick release gator bracelets at Paravival.  Great stocking stuffers!

Current events and opinion:

Don’t make holiday plans, Boehner tells Republicans
PJ:  This is bound to go right up to the deadline, and possibly beyond.  Any “compromise” beforehand would be in direct violation of the status quo.

Federal Reserve’s New Money Printing Scheme Will Ensure Long-term Unemployment
PJ: The real unemployment rate is over 22%, make no mistake about it.

QE4 Is Here: Bernanke Delivers $85B-A-Month Until Unemployment Falls Below 6.5%
PJ:  I’ll continue to reiterate the old phrase:  once the presses start they cannot stop. Printing more money to help the economy is a pipe dream, more signs of the times.  Things are escalating but only those of us who are actually paying attention realize what is truly going on.  From the article: “QE4 is here. Only a few months after announcing what had been dubbed QE3, an open-ended $40 billion a month program to buy up mortgage backed securities (MBS), the FOMC decided to extend its asset purchases in 2013 as Operation Twist expires.”

Police ID suspect in Oregon mall shooting, say gun jammed possibly preventing more deaths
PJ:  Indeed this is sad for the victims of this tragedy.  I’ve said it before, the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun (or a coward who takes his own life after preying on the innocent).

NASA Science prepares for the not-end of the world
PJ:  I’m not sure how they have time to focus on doomsday, considering their primary mission is to ensure better relations with the Muslim world.

Democrats threaten violence on Michigan House floor
PJ:  ”There will be blood.”  As in…cutting yourself while shaving? It’s funny how politicians throw out threats like this, but if you and I were to say something similar we would be labeled as crazy.

Gun-control group sues Internet gun advertiser in Oak Brook murder
PJ:  I’ve used Armslist before with no problems.  Check out this quote: “It makes me angry that some murderous guy could go buy a gun on the Internet,” said Vesel’s brother, Alex Vasely.   So what’s the solution, ban all internet sales and classifieds AND private party transactions?  Naturally….
