(Before It's News)

What do you think? Is this a decent basic guide for small engine repair? Knowing how to “fix your own” is important for personal security…or know someone you can barter skills with. Here’s the article: http://ow.ly/k4H0y

Commenter 1: “For any basic engine repair you have to make sure it has 3 things. Air, fuel and fire. Check those and you will find your problem.”

Commenter 2: “Most older models don’t have a fuel pump.. just gravity and vacumm fed…”

Commenter 3: “Doesn’t give any detail into spark delivery. Most small engines pick up there timing from a magnetic “pick up” on the fly wheel. If that gets a coat of rust on it it can cause ignition problems.”

Commenter 4: “Anybody over 14 should have a basic understanding of how a simple engine works. As was mentioned earlier if it has air, fuel and spark it should run. If not you probably won’t fix it in the field.”
