A corporate website has advised McDonald’s employees that cheeseburgers and fries are an unhealthy meal choice – a significant admission from the world largest hamburger chain restaurant.
The advice was dispensed on McResource, a website for McDonald’s employees that since has been shut down.
“While convenient and economical for a busy lifestyle, fast foods are typically high in calories, fat, saturated fat, sugar, and salt and may put people at risk for becoming overweight,” McResource told employees.
McResource reportedly displayed a picture of a cheeseburger, fries and a soft drink next to the words “unhealthy choice” and salad, a glass of water and a submarine sandwich next to the words “healthier choice,” Britain’s Daily Mail reported. The healthy choice looks like similar to a Subway sandwich. Another graphic at the site reportedly advised employees to choose fruits and vegetables over “unhealthy fatty foods.”
