Phoenix, AZ -(Ammoland.com)- The competitive equestrian sport and historical reenactment that is Cowboy Mounted Shooting will be on display at the Arizona Game and Fish Outdoor Expo presented by Shikar Safari Club International on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29.

This sport, which requires riding a horse to negotiate a shooting pattern in which cowboys shoot blank ammunition at target balloons, is always an Expo favorite at the facility’s Cowboy Mounted Shooting Arena.

Admission and parking are free for this family-friendly event.

See video of cowboy mounted shooting.

Expo hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The 2015 Outdoor Expo is easy to get to, located on Carefree Highway, about 1/2 mile west of I-17 in Phoenix.

Of course, mounted shooting is just one crowd-pleaser at the Expo, which last year drew 48,000 participants during the course of the weekend. See highlights of last year’s Expo.

Paddle a lap at Lake Paddlemore, go for a ride on the new OHV track, or talk to experts about wildlife, hunting and fishing tips, and more. Even hike a field course and learn practical camping tips.

There will be more than 150 exhibitors, including outdoor recreation and conservation groups, government agencies, and commercial vendors of outdoor products and services.

Twitter users: please share your Expo experiences by Tweeting with the hashtag #AZGFDOutdoorExpo.

The title sponsor for this year’s event is Shikar Safari Club International. Gold sponsors are Cabela’s and Arizona State Credit Union.
