DeKalb, Illinois – Reed Snyder and J.W. Ramp bring you the fifth installment of the revised scratch build series in this week’s episode of the AR-15 Podcast! Episodes 1 – 4 took a step by step approach from a stripped lower receiver and proceeded to build a fully functional rifle. Here in Episode 127, the hosts cover one of the hallmarks of the AR-15’s popularity–it’s ability to take a range of accessories.
A large portion of the episode goes through one of the most important aspects of any build which is of course the sights. Reed and J.W. divide the time between enhanced optics and back up iron sights. Most of the considerations center around the rifle configuration and the purpose of the sights. Of course long range shooters will require different setups than closer events like 3 Gun. And of course, there is also the question of whether your iron sights are primary or only backup to your optic. Other show topics include accuracy and reliability enhancements, slings, rail accessories, and lights. This one covers a lot ARP listeners!
