Watertown, So. Dak. (Ammoland.Com) – Benny Spies, host of Gun It with Benny Spies presented by Leupold, needs help on set. But the budget for “Gun It” doesn’t allow wiggle room to hire extra hands – so Benny is relying on the skills of an intern. Meet Garett, an energetic, young go-getter who knows very little about hunting or fishing, but that doesn’t stop him from applying for the job. Lucky for Garett, his second day on the job is opening dove season in South Dakota. Spies is in a good mood, which bodes well for Garett since he already messed up by not putting the gas cap on Toaster. After a little clay pigeon practice to test their shooting skills, they hit the fields for doves. But the boys get hungry, and Garett makes a smart play by calling on the one person he can count on to provide homemade grub – Spies’ mom.

“You know, there were a few growing pains in the beginning, like not putting the gas cap back on Toaster, but he totally redeemed himself by making sure we always had Dakota Style chips and Jack Links jerky snacks in the Toaster’s snack rack. He was a hell of good intern and it was hard to see him go, but, turns out, we couldn’t even afford the free help!” said Spies.
